About the trainer

Meet your Breathe Studio Owner and Personal Trainer, Holly Sanders

My interest in fitness started as a young girl attempting Aerobics moves, on a VHS tape (dating myself!), next to my Mom in our living room. The women on the video seemed so put together with their coordinating leotards, tights and leg warmers. I also loved how warm and encouraging these women were through the screen.

Fast forward to the year 2000: I'm now a 22 year old mother with a beautiful brand new baby boy. I'm also struggling with intense anxiety which eventually burns down into a terrible mix with depression. I tried so many things to feel "normal" again but nothing helped until my Mom encouraged me to try exercise as a form of relief. Mother knows best!

I literally got the same old VHS tape out and did that workout so many times that I had it memorized. That's when I realized that fitness was about more than looking cute or being concerned with how others saw me. I needed to be healthy inside and out for my own survival and for my sweet baby boy. Working out didn't fix it all but, it gave me some much needed relief.

After years of exercising at home, I got up the courage to try out to become an instructor at a franchise coming to a nearby town. With that first certification, I added to my love of fitness, a love for the community of women that I moved with. These women were supportive and encouraging- helping me build by skill with each class. Through tears and small victories, I learned to grow with grace for myself and for others and not to look for perfection in either.

Since then, I have also earned my Personal Training Certification and find great joy in working one-on-one with my clients. Fitness has been a safe haven for me through many personal griefs and through the physical pain of pelvic floor issues. Movement is such a gift!

Now that I have the privilege to invite you into my own teaching and training space, I pray we can expand our community, move dynamically and support each other deeply as we journey through life. Thank you for taking the time to read my story. This opportunity is a light at the end of those dark tunnels I've trudged through. I can't wait to Breathe with you!

Is personal training the right fit for you?

Have you been on your own fitness journey only to feel frustrated with a lack of motivation, results or know-how? Maybe you're completely new to exercise and don't know where to start. For many a blanket approach to fitness doesn't bring effective or efficient changes to their body. Personal training can help you find the “blind spots” in your training program. Do the following statements resonate with you?

  • I want healthy, friendly accountability to help me show up each week to gain new strength and skill
  • I want to seek specific knowledge about how my body moves or needs to move to relieve discomfort and gain strength and stability
  • I want to move with professional guidance on my own schedule in a one on one environment

Stephanie

Client

“Initially, my search for a personal trainer stemmed from a need to prepare for major surgery. As someone with little athletic experience, I was nervous but determined not to face surgery unprepared. Discovering Holly, whose credentials and approach matched my needs, was a turning point. She listened to my history, set realistic goals, and made me feel comfortable from our first meeting. Our training sessions paid off; the surgery went smoothly, and my recovery was easy. I credit Holly's guidance and the strength we built together for this success. More than a year later, I still train regularly with her, grateful for her support and the continuous progress on my health journey.”

Mara

Client

“Holly is exceptional — she meets you exactly where you are and elevates you from there. Before training with her, I had no experience with a personal trainer … nor did I remotely enjoy any type of exercise classes. I had not defined specific goals for myself when I first met Holly — just wanted better strength, mobility, flexibility, and stamina. Holly is warm, patient, and endlessly motivating, with expert knowledge and an instinct for tailoring workouts that actually work. I saw noticeable improvements almost immediately. After nearly 18 months I still eagerly attend her classes and continue one-on-one sessions — she's transformed my fitness and overall health.”
